Shading is pretty nice, but what it is does not impress me at all. Looks quite cheesy, ugly and stupid.

I know you didn't create the original, but that's what I think regardless. No malice intended.

This is a fantastic concept and I really love the character. I'm interested to find out more about this crazy world you've created for him.
One thing I would say is that the bg colours are fine but the design doesn't really compliment the character. Although it still works pretty well, and isn't what you focus on anyway...only noticed it after I'd read and examined it all. The illustration is quite fantastic imo, I'm currently doing it in 'my style' in the thread you posted it in recently. Should be done soon.

Perehaps a generic rising sun from betwixt' the mountains would be an idea. Or a tiny sun up high. There's a ctually a lot of stuff you could add to better it if you dislike it so much as it is, But personally I think it looks cool- like a clean printed image.
